Measuring what matters: Residential accessibility assessment under fiscal pressure
Measuring what matters makes the case for verifiable spatial measurement in NDIS residential accessibility assessment. As demand for Complex Home Modifications rises with population ageing, manual measurement cannot reliably meet National Construction Code tolerances. The paper argues that LiDAR-based smart-data capture, paired with clinical judgement, offers a more accurate, auditable and fiscally sustainable pathway, and sets out five recommendations.
DepthPano: An operational image format delivering web-native residential scans
DepthPano is the web-native format for delivering indoor laser scans in residential accessibility assessment. It encodes depth in a standard PNG image where no specialist software is needed to achieve roughly twenty-five-fold smaller files than E57 while preserving accuracy.
